The YRDSB Museum & Archives is run by the York Region District School Board. Located in an 1872 schoolhouse, the museum itself first began in the late 1980's as an effort to capture and preserve the social history of public education in York Region. We ask questions such as who was educated, where they were educated, and why. The artifacts in our collection range from the 1850's up to present day and continue to reflect the ongoing changes to public education. Our collection includes: school histories, text books, teacher manuals and contracts, school equipment, and more! Search the catalogue and see where it takes you.
