Have Your Say!

We value the insight and opinions of parents, students and members of our community. There are many ways to share your opinions about public education and the policies and procedures of our Board. Share your thoughts and opinions through School Climate Surveys, policies for comment and other current surveys.

Policies Available for Comment:

All policies that are currently available for comment are posted on the Policies for Comment webpage. Policies address a range of topics such as health and safety, student supports, extra-curricular programs and curriculum review.

If you feel that a policy needs to be revised, it is most helpful if you outline clearly the specific section(s) of the policy you wish to see changed, the reason(s) for your suggestions and specific wording suggestions.

Submit your feedback to your child’s school council, or via e-mail to policy.commitee@yrdsb.ca, by fax at 905-727-3984 or in hard copy at the Education Centre Aurora to the attention of the Assistant Manager, Board and Trustee Services.

Please direct any questions about the policy review process by email to policy.commitee@yrdsb.ca or by phone at
905-727-0022 extension 2217.

School Climate Surveys:

School Climate Surveys allow the Board to gain insights into parent/guardian’s impression of their child’s school. These surveys are conducted periodically and address topics such as equity and inclusivity, school safety, learning programs and resources, student well-being, and school-home communications. This helps us to identify areas to be addressed, to monitor progress, and to plan appropriate strategies to support our students.
