Summer Programs

The ESL program provides students an opportunity​​ to:

- begin their secondary studies early
- add to their credit summary, or
- experience the Canadian classroom by participating in a summer credit course led by an Ontario Certified Teacher

This is a 4-week ESL summer credit program available to:

- new international students starting school with YRDSB in September 2022
- international students visiting Canada for a short-term period
- non-YRDSB students attending private/public school

Program Details

Dates: July 25 to August 19 (full-time attendance is mandatory) 8:45 am to 3:30 pm

Location: Dr. Bette Stephenson Centre for Learning, 36 Regatta Ave., Richmond Hill

Fee: (includes registration, program fee, and medical insurance)

- YRDSB Student (beginning school September 2022) $800
- Non-YRDSB Student $1,880

English assessment will be conducted before the start of the program to confirm ESL course level placement.

    This program is not available for the 2022 summer season. Please re-visit this page for dates and availability for the 2023 summer season.

    This is a 2-week to 6-week summer program available to:

    • visiting international students, age 10 to 13
    • individuals and groups
    • beginner to intermediate English language speakers

    Half day is focused on learning English, and the other half visiting students are immersed with local students while participating in camp activities.

    The program is offered at Crosby Heights PS (109 Neal Dr., Richmond Hill)

    Secondary students standing outdoorsThis program is available to secondary students attending an international school which grants Ontario Secondary School Diploma credits.

    A full academic schedule, combined with local sightseeing and shopping makes this an experience of a lifetime. Students will be immersed with local students and will learn while attending school and visiting places of interest.

    Students attend classes in YRDSB schools and are placed with a compatible family in close proximity to the school.
