Aurora, ON – Students from Pierre Elliott Trudeau H.S. competed in the Euclid Mathematics Contest, hosted by University of Waterloo, and placed 1st in their regional zone. Students achieved an overall team score of 255 placing them 6th in Ontario amongst 10,000 registered students and 787 schools.
The Euclid Mathematics Contest is an opportunity for students to have fun and develop their mathematical problem solving ability with problems based on curricula up to and including the final year of secondary school.
“We are so proud of our student’s results in the Euclid Mathematics Contest,” said Lisa Wargo, Principal of Pierre Elliot Trudeau High School “Placing 6th overall in Ontario amongst 10,000 other students is an impressive achievement and we hope our students take great pride in their accomplishment.”
“The Euclid Mathematics Contest is a great opportunity for students to have fun and to develop their mathematical problem solving ability,” said Mahmood Pournasola, Mathematics Department Head at Pierre Elliot Trudeau High School. “Achieving the top results in our zone is a testament to our student’s hard work and commitment.”
