Oak Ridges P.S. Celebrates Literacy Week

Students at Oak Ridges P.S. will be celebrating the joys and importance of reading and writing with guest speakers from May 7-11, 2018 in honour of Literacy Week. Students will also engage in a variety of activities including a creative writing contest, door decorating contest and a spirit day where students will dress up as their favourite book character.

Guest speakers include:

  • Former captain of Team Canada women’s hockey, Angela James
    • Visit Date – Monday, May 7, 2018 9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
  • Author and storyteller, Shoshana Litman
    • Visit Date - Tuesday, May 8, 2018 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
  • York Region Police Chief, Eric Joliffe
    • Visit Date - Friday, May 11, 2018 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
  • Speaker, author, performance coach and mountaineer, Alan Mallory
    • Visit Date – Friday, May 11, 2018 1:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
