What:
York Region Robotics Tournament (12th Anniversary)
Approximately 350 students in Grades 4-8 will compete in two challenges using their Lego Mindstorm robots. With this year’s theme being “pets,” students will compete in a Gold Fish Pond challenge (two teams compete against each at the same time to collect and take gold fish home) and a Turtle Rescue Challenge (robots rescue turtles from the road and release them into a pond).
Trophies will be given to the teams that place first in each challenge. There are also trophies given for best design for each challenge. The tournament has become one of the largest tournaments in the province.

9:15 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Why:
The tournament is an exciting, hands-on opportunity for young students to display their expertise in the areas of technology and design.

Approximately 350 Grade 4–8 students from 26 elementary schools in York Region.
