What:
Students from age 9 to 14 will compete in 2 challenges with their Lego Mindstorm Robots. The theme of this year’s tournament is Recycling. There will be a head to head Recycling Drop Off challenge where 2 teams will compete against each other and a Recycling Sorting Challenge where robots will deliver items to bins.
Trophies will be given to the Junior and Intermediate team that place first in each challenge. There are also 4 trophies given for best design for each challenge.

Why:
The tournament is a celebration of the use of technology in our elementary public schools. It is also an exciting, hands-on opportunity for young students to display their prowess with technology and design.
Who:
There are 54 teams of grade 4-8 students from 17 elementary schools in York Region (approximately 250 students).
