First Nation, Métis and Inuit Arts Inquiry and Exhibit

A group of secondary students from two different high schools have been working with Indigenous artists throughout the school year to explore Canadian identity and First Nation, Métis and Inuit history and culture through art.

The artwork reflects their learning from local Indigenous artists and will be displayed on exhibit May 2-5, 2017. Please check the Aurora Cultural Centre website for opening hours. Students and artists will be available at the exhibit opening to speak about their artwork and learning.

Why:

This project was initiated by a former Unionville S.S. student who wanted to learn more about her Canadian Identity through Indigenous art.

Students from Huron Heights S.S. and Unionville S.S. and their teachers, Board staff members and the student who initiated the project.
