How can we build and promote York Region as a vibrant arts and culture scene to encourage residents and visitors to live, work and play here? Students will work with local artists and professionals to come up with some innovative solutions.
To inform their ideas, students will learn about Indigenous culture in York Region and explore perspectives with local artists, businesses and professional planners regarding the interconnections between art, culture and food in a vibrant community.
The event gives students an opportunity to collaborate, problem solve and apply learning in an arts environment. Organized with the Workforce Planning Board of York Region and supported by the York Region Arts Council and Town of Newmarket, this is also part of the innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship training for Specialist High Skills Major students.
