Academic Integrity and Assessment

Academic Dishonesty

  • Academic dishonesty includes practices such as plagiarism, cheating on tests, examinations and assignments.
  • Academic dishonesty may result in the suspension of online privileges.

Plagiarism

  • When you borrow another writer's words and/ or ideas and include them in your work, you must acknowledge this whether it is a direct quotation or a restatement of an idea.
  • Failure to do so is a form of academic dishonesty known as plagiarism and will result in a mark of zero for the work submitted.

Late Policy

  • All assignments have been given a due date.
  • Review Assignment Due Dates as indicated by the teacher in your course.
  • If you know that you will not be able to meet a given due date, contact your teacher in advance of the final deadline to request an extension.
  • Once the final deadline has arrived, extensions will be granted for extenuating circumstances only.

Assessment and Evaluation

  • ​Term work [70%] is based on course work. This may include, but is not limited to: assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, and collaborative work.
  • Culminating Activities [30%] is based on a final examination worth 30%. 

Reporting

  • Students will receive two formal reports, with the exception of Civics/Careers (0.5 credit courses) that will receive a final report.

    • Final report = Final exam 30% + Term work 70%​​

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, final exams may not be held. The determination of the final grade will be communicated to students at the beginning of the session.
