Recognizing that parent voice is important, York Region District School Board has invited parents from each school to an evening of learning and sharing. The symposium will focus on differentiated approaches to parent engagement and feature a variety of workshops to provide parents with tools that support their children’s learning and well-being in the areas of leadership, innovation and equity.
This event will be live streamed and available at www.yrdsb.ca. Parents can follow along and join the conversation on Twitter using #yrdsbparentvoice.

Why:
The symposium aims to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement in order to improve student achievement and well-being. Workshops will support the Ministry of Education’s renewed vision of achieving excellence, ensuring equity, promoting well-being and enhancing public confidence.
Who:
Participants will include families of students attending York Region District Board schools and school administrators. Parent and student volunteers have been actively engaged in the planning and implementation of this event.
