Prisoners of War

In Enemy Hands; Canadian Prisoners of War 1939-45, Daniel G. Dancocks introduces Canadian Prisoners of War as the forgotten men of World War II.

Although there are calculations and statistics of how many POW men there were, he says; "It is sometimes easy to forget that the statistics are people." I find this quote especially essential when analyzing war because no matter how small a group is, soldiers are still people and should be remembered for whatever their contributions were. The POW men may have not been victorious in battle, but they are still remembered in my heart.
