Students will work with a team of experts to develop and pitch innovative ideas to help businesses reduce plastic waste in Vaughan. To inform their ideas, students will learn more about the challenges businesses face in reducing plastics and use microscopes to find microplastics in local sand and water.
Students will connect with and learn from representatives from the City of Vaughan’s Policy Planning and Environmental Sustainability, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and Environmental Services departments, as well as from Riverside Natural Foods and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
