York Region District School Board of Trustees Approve New Strategic Plan: Building Unity, Achieving Excellence

Aurora - At the October 1, 2024 Board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a new Multi-Year Strategic Plan.

With the theme, Building Unity, Achieving Excellence, the plan focuses on bringing together our school communities in support of student success. Established by the Board of Trustees, the Multi-Year Strategic Plan sets the priorities and direction for the school board and is centred on three priorities:

  • Student Achievement
  • Health and Well-Being
  • Human Rights and Inclusive Education

The new Multi-Year Strategic Plan aligns with Ministry of Education priorities, is student-centred and was developed based on staff, student and community feedback.

“We are grateful to the many students, staff and community members who shared their input and helped us to develop a Multi-Year Strategic Plan that reflects the community we serve,” said Ron Lynn, Board Chair. “This plan will help to ensure we continue to deliver high-quality education and remain a leader in public education.”

“This Multi-Year Strategic Plan sets out clear priorities that will guide the work of our system in the years ahead,” said Bill Cober, Director of Education. “The plan has a clear focus on the achievement and well-being of all students, and the essential role that staff and community play in advancing student success.”
