The finalized 2023-2024 School Year Calendars, as outlined below, have received formal approval from the Ministry of Education as follows:

1. That the 2023-2024 school year for all elementary and secondary schools consist of 194 days and include the designation of 187 Instructional Days and seven Professional Activity Days.

2. That the Elementary School Year Calendar for 2023-2024 designate:

• a) Tuesday, September 5, 2023 as the first day of school for students, and

• b) Thursday, June 27, 2024 as the last day of school for students.

3. That the Regular Secondary School Year Calendar for 2023-2024 designate:

• a) Tuesday, September 5, 2023 as the first day of school for students, and

• b) Wednesday, June 26, 2024 as the last day of school for students.

4. That the Early Start Secondary School Calendar for 2023-2024 (impacting Keswick High School, Maple High School, Markville Secondary School and Sutton District High School) operate on a modified version of the Regular Secondary
School Calendar for 2023-2024 with the following adjustments:

• a) the first day of school for students will be Monday, August 28, 2023 instead of Tuesday, September 5, 2023,

• b) a one-week mid-term break will be scheduled from Monday, October 23, 2023 to Friday, October 27, 2023, and

• c) Wednesday, June 26, 2024 as the last day of school for students.

5. That the Balanced Calendar for 2023-2024 (impacting Bill Crothers Secondary School) operate on a modified version of the Regular Secondary School Calendar for 2023-2024 with the following adjustments;

• a) the first day of school for students will be Wednesday, August 16, 2023 instead of Wednesday, September 5, 2023,

• b) Bill Crothers Secondary School Holidays will be scheduled on Thursday, August 31, 2023, Friday, September 1, 2023, Friday, October 6, 2023, Monday, October 23, 2023 to Friday, October 27, 2023, Friday, December 1, 2023, and Monday, April 22, 2024 to Friday, April 26, 2024, and

• c) the last day of school for students will be Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

6. That the school holidays for all elementary and secondary schools be modified as follows:
