Students studying Grade 11 and 12 Biology at Milliken Mills H.S. worked with Knowledge Carrier Alan Colley to build a mound garden that will last 20 years.
The project stemmed from students' interest in learning more about Indigenous perspectives on plants and biology and giving back to the community. Students spent a day getting their hands dirty, learning more about mound gardens and Indigenous perspectives, and building a community mound garden they can leave as a legacy for future students.
