Students and educators from Stouffville District Secondary School and Maple High School have been engaged in identity projects through the Arts and English as a Second Language (ESL) programming. As part of the project, English language learners and their teachers explored how multimodal expressions of themselves support language and literacy development in an identity-affirming and inclusive learning environment. Students engaged in storytelling, poetry writing and various art media to deepen their understanding of their identities, while building community through oral communication.
