The York Region Children’s Chorus sings all types of genres, from Classical to Pop and Jazz music. The choir is open to students from Grades 5 to 12.
The choir will be providing additional audition dates for its 2019-2020 Season. Interested students are invited to attend one of the following rehearsals:
- September 17, 2019 (6:00 - 8:00 pm)
- September 24, 2019 (6:00 - 7:00 pm)
Please be prepared to sing a short piece of music for the choir directors without any piano accompaniment.
Rehearsals are held weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Alexander Mackenzie High School.
The following are important dates for our 2019-2020 Season:
September 24, 2019 - First day of rehearsal
October 18, 2019 - Vocal retreat at the Cedar Glen Outdoor Education Centre
December 10, 2019 - Holiday Concert
January 14, 2020 - First day of rehearsal after the Winter Break
May 4 or 5, 2020 - Tentative Spring Concert (location to be determined)
The choir may have additional performance opportunities at local events and Music festivals throughout the year.

There is a $135 fee to participate in the choir once students are successful from an audition. The fee covers the cost of music, busing, a polo shirt, and the concert venue rental. The fee is $125 for students who already have a polo shirt
