Aquatic Leadership Program - Registration

Due to COVID-19 and physical distancing requirements in instructional settings at community centres the YRDSB Aquatic Leadership Program will not be offered in the 2021-2022 school year. The program will resume in the 2022-2023 school year.

 

How to Register

Review the category that best describes your current status and apply accordingly.

 

If you are registered at one of the regular York Region District School Board schools, apply as a YRDSB Student. A complete application consists of:

  1. Permission from your Guidance Counsellor sent to aquaticleadership@yrdsb.ca. Please contact your Guidance Counsellor requesting they send permission to the continuing education office if you qualify.

  2. A completed Online Application for the City of Markham or Town of Aurora.

  3. Confirmation that your application has been received will be emailed from the Continuing Education Office to both the student and City of Markham or Town of Aurora. It will include details regarding payment and proof of eligibility.

  4. Payment of fees must be made to the City of Markham or Town of Aurora for course material prior to the first day of class.

Note: Students with IEPs should submit a copy of their IEPs to the teacher on the first day of classes.

If you are registered in a regular day school at another school board such as YCDSB, TDSB, TCDSB, etc., apply as a Non-YRDSB Student. A complete application consists of:

  1. Permission from your Guidance Counsellor sent to aquaticleadership@yrdsb.ca.  Please contact your Guidance Counsellor requesting they send permission to the continuing education office if you qualify.

  2. A completed Online Application for the City of Markham or the Town of Aurora.​ 

  3. Confirmation that your application has been received will be emailed from the Continuing Education Office to both the student and City of Markham or Town of Aurora. It will include details regarding payment and proof of eligibility.

  4. Payment of fees must be made to the City of Markham for course material prior to to the City of Markham or City of Vaughan Town of Aurora for course material prior to the first day of class.​

Note: Students with IEPs should submit a copy of their IEPs to the teacher on the first day of classes.

If you are not registered in a regular day school, apply as a Non-Student. A complete application consists of:

  1. Submit your documentation as listed in the table below to aquaticleadership@yrdsb.ca.
  2. A completed Online Application for the City of Markham or Town of Aurora.
  3. Confirmation that your application has been received will be emailed from the Continuing Education Office to both the student and City of Markham or Town of Aurora. It will include details regarding payment and proof of eligibility.
  4. Payment of fees must be made to the City of Markham or Town of Aurora for course material prior to the first day of class.​

Proof of Canadian Status Proof of Ontario Residency Photo Identification

For Canadian Citizens:
A birth Certificate, or Canadian Passport

For Non-Canadian Citizens:
Permanent Resident document, Refugee documents, Convention Refugee, Visitor Record (Fee paying), Expiry Date (YYYY MM DD), Permit (Visa) & Expiry Date, Fee paying, Study, Work, Temporary Resident, Canadian Status Indian

Driver's License, Tax bill, Land deed, Lease, Proof of Purchase, Letter of Residency, Rental Agreement, Permission to Attend form ​

Driver's license, Health Card (green card with picture), Student Card, Canadian Passport ​
