In all cases, YRDSB international student school transfer requests are received and reviewed by International Education Services staff. Please see conditions below for new and existing students.
New Students
The school assigned to the student cannot be changed once the Letter of Acceptance is issued. No transfer of school will be allowed once the student arrives in Canada. All students must complete one full school year before a transfer can be considered.
Existing Students (attending YRDSB)
A formal, written request is required outlining the reason for the transfer and must be submitted to admissions@yrdsb.ca. Transfers are considered if space is available at the new school, and if the student has met the academic/attendance criteria for renewal eligibility.
Please note, changing home address is not an automatic approval for transfer.
Students currently attending school in Canada are considered new students (not transfer students), and must follow the admissions guidelines.
