The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Review Report was commissioned to assess the effectiveness of YRDSB resources, supports and services in addressing the needs of students with ASD, their families, and school staff. The review, which was conducted during the 2012-2013 school year, includes an overview of information about Autism Spectrum Disorders and related trends; current YRDSB and community resources, services and supports for students with ASD; key findings from the Parents/Guardians, school staff and Student Services staff surveys and the subsequent, emergence of four broad themes:
1) Knowledge Mobilization: Professional Learning and Information Dissemination;
2) Streamlined Approach to Support Services;
3) Coordination of a Collaborative Service Model; and
4) Program Enhancement
