Trustee Candidate Information Session
The City of Richmond Hill will hold a by-election to fill the vacant trustee position for Richmond Hill, Wards 1, 2 and 4. Residents from across York Region, who are not prohibited from voting under any law on the day their nomination forms are filed, are eligible to run for office.
York Region District School Board will hold an online information session for individuals who are interested in running for the position on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Individuals interested in joining the session are asked to pre-register. Individuals who pre-register will receive information and connection instructions directly.
Individuals interested in running for the vacant trustee position are encouraged to visit the Municipal By-Election page on the Board website to learn more about the role of school board trustees and key dates. This page will be updated regularly with information to support candidates and voters.

Why:
The purpose of the information session is to help candidates better understand the role and responsibilities of a school board trustee. The session will clarify for candidates the role of trustees and role of school board administration.
