October 27, 2021 – York Region District School Board’s four secondary arts schools are hosting virtual information nights for interested students and families currently in Grade 8 and 9. Students currently in Grade 8 are invited to apply to the secondary arts school that corresponds with their attendance boundary. Grade 9 students may apply to enter the program in Grade 10, space permitting.
The Secondary Arts Program is a four year program for YRDSB students that offers a package of specialized arts credits (two per year) that count towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Students will receive a certificate upon completion.
To access the information night registration link, families should visit the Arts webpage for each individual school. Families will have the opportunity to ask specific questions about the program during the virtual session. Step 1 of the registration process opens November 10, 2021. The deadline to register is December 6, 2021.
