“We look forward to welcoming back all of our students and families in September and to continue engaging in meaningful conversations with our communities,” said Loralea Carruthers, Chair of the York Region District School Board. “This promises to be an exciting year as we continue to grow as a board by opening two new schools in Markham and Stouffville, Barbara Reid Public School and Bill Hogarth Secondary School.”
“We have been working diligently over the summer to continually improve on our safe, nurturing and inclusive environments for students and staff,” said Kathryn Wallace, Interim Director of Education for York Region District School Board. “Our teachers, administrators and support staff are excited and prepared to greet our students to begin a very successful 2017-18 school year.”
