York Region District School Board Top Scholars

July 19, 2021 - York Region District School Board is pleased to announce the top scholars of the 2020-21 school year.

“Congratulations to our students on their incredible achievements,” said Director of Education Louise Sirisko. “Their success reflects our students’ and staff’s hard work, dedication and commitment to student excellence.”

“Throughout the pandemic, York Region students have shown incredible resilience, optimism and dedication to their studies and their future,” added YRDSB Board Chair Cynthia Cordova. “We are very proud of their accomplishments.”

International Baccalaureate

York Region District School Board offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme in five secondary schools. Students enrolled in the IB program follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme curriculum and assessment standards.

In 2020-21, there were 30 IB students who achieved a 100% average.

York Region District School Board is the third largest school district in Ontario with over 128,000 students in 180 elementary schools and 33 secondary schools. York Region students consistently perform above average in provincial testing and the Board is one of the top achievers in Ontario.
